As a Market Manager, your job is to leverage your skills and knowledge of the home delivery business to manage a designated geographic market. Through effective relationship management with local retail customers, warehousing partners, independently contracted drivers and the NALG Corporate Office, this position is accountable for ensuring excellence in the execution of all day-to-day operations. Above all else, the Market Manager is responsible for ensuring that the customer and client’s experience surpass their expectations at every interaction thereby supporting NALG’s differentiated position in the industry.
The Market Manager is accountable for overseeing the status of the driver fleet, managing issues with customers and delivery teams to resolution and basic administrative duties associated with the collection and compliance of delivery paperwork, and inventory management. Additionally, other tasks may be required as dictated by business need.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/AREAS OF INFLUENCE:
Act as a liaison between local retail customers, warehousing partners, independently contracted drivers and the NALG Corporate Office. Exercise professional judgment and diplomatic approach to issue management and resolution.
Accountable for the operational efficiency, quality of service and profitability against predetermined goal for market. Identify, escalate and execute on management-approved opportunities for increased productivity for the territory.
Responsible for the compliance of all administrative paperwork associated with territory activity including driver credentials and signed delivery paperwork.
Recruit, train and maintain on-going relationship with any third party providers, ie independent contractors, warehouses and management thereof.
Effectively resolve on-road issues that may arise; making mid-course corrections as needed.
Work closely with dispatch, customers and drivers via telephone to provide assistance and effectively resolve escalated on-road issues.
Builds company image within market by collaborating with clients, partners, customers, NALG Management Team.
Contribute to the NALG effort by accomplishing other results as needed

Proven ability to effectively manage business relationships with large clients, direct reports and vendors
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively and independently in a fast-paced, high volume work environment and to effectively management quickly changing priorities
Ability to travel and navigate within designated territory
Computer Proficiency is required in the following programs/applications: Microsoft Excel and ability to learn proprietary programs quickly
Bachelors Degree or commensurate experience is required
Work schedule flexibility. Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays
